Friday. Cold outside, but only a very light frost. At least there shouldn't be any window scraping on the cars.
The ongoing saga. The wee men that arrived yesterday were good. One has worked here before, he's ex army and we always get on very well. The sparky was here before on this job, he's fitting a new extractor fan and replacing all the switch pull cords etc. They both worked well, fuelled by copious mugs of tea. The job should be finished today! We'll see. I'm going to phone the wee lassie at the contractors to ensure I get the same two here today. There is something the tiler pointed out to me that was done by the cowboys earlier in the saga I want her to see too.
we did have Emmie..but has vamoosed...very cold though and the threat is omnipresent !! I am at the top of a steep hill and in bad weather even the ploughs can't get up..have to keep freezer stocked in the winter..nothing comes out to this village in the snow and the one shop quickly runs out of everything...
not good, so you are in the sticks so to speak. As you know i am in the capital where everything is open, can't imagine waitrose running out of things any day soon....
we are about 12 miles south of Edinburgh City Centre so not really terribly rural, but very high and get extremes of weather that you don't get just a few miles away...
Good morning Minty XXOOXX.
It's our 50th (golden) anniversary tomorrow so we went shopping yesterday, bought Ann a gold ring, with a diamond. It does not feel like 50yrs but still the best thing I ever did.
I'm back just to say fare thee well to all that came along since I was here earlier, Donny, that's a wonderful celebration for you, congrats to you and your wife Ann on your Golden Jubilee, wishing you both many more years of good health and happiness xx wonderful last thing for me to read on here before i hit the road, not literally I hope xx
