ulcers are very painful indeed and oscopies are no fun and... I'll let yogi explain the bear facts.
I was taken in with an ulcer a little while ago. Luckily no bleeding but it was horrendously painful.

Oh no! Hope everyone is well now??
I hope everyone is well and healing and Smow, I wish you a lovely week away.

Have a fabulous time Smow...enjoy the shopping. I did...but the exchange rate now isn't as good as it was a few years ago.

Yogi...where does your cousin live? I come from Long Island...about 35 miles out, though my brother who I visited is about 30 miles east.

Ah bless you Mamya x
sorry to hear that, ummmm, I know (only vicariously) how unpleasant it is. Five or six days on a drip seems to have done the trick, along with transfusions (another series of appointments in a month to make sure it's worked) though meanwhile there's an associated kidney infection to treat. One of the indignities of old age for the likes of us, but people your age shouldn't have to go through it.
Afternoon jno,

Sorry couldn't answer last night....hit the sack as up early in the mornings.
Yes, had the blood transfusion when arrived in, as it was horrible, bringing up coffee coloured blood....like something out of The Exorcist!
then after Endoscopy procedure to fix Duodenal ulcer, put on drips with antibiotics and water, nil by mouth for days, almost a week in hospital, then allowed home to recuperate. It really knocked me for six.....Our cool Dr Sqad and some lovely people on this site gave me great advice, I asked for, whilst recuperating, about what to eat, drink etc.....never want to repeat that.

I hope your OH is recuperating well, jno and please send him my best wishes for a speedy recovery x

Ummmm, I hope all is ok with you, my lovely....it's all over now is what counts x

Hiya pasta,

My cousin lives near a place called Mosquito Cove, near the sea....such a beautiful spot. I visit her when I can or she sometimes comes up to the City to meet me. Small world isn't it....I knew you were American but didn't know where from. Mrs B is from San Diego,Cali. so I'm well used to Americans ☺ x
Adage . . . . only pack half the clothes you think you may need but take twice the money!
Hi yogi. I grew up about ten miles away...south of Oyster Bay, also on the North Shore.
Yes...it is a small world.

Smow, I'd tell you to take a drive out that way...but I suspect NYC is at the tip top of your list. ;-)
If you've not packed...here's the weather forecast...quite mild. It was 4-6° below zero last week.
I would have my chosen clothes ready hanging up all over the shop but I wouldnt pack until the lasr minute to avoid deep creasing.
Pasta, how far from Massapequa...my outlaws old haunt.....probably know some restaurants mutually - like the Med Grill in Huntington.....?
or the Lighthouse at Glen Cove - and I used to like the Chart House in Dobs Ferry, great Mississippi Mud Pies.....
Sarduccis for some Italian fun in theatre district, Smow......for shopping a visit outta town to Woodbury Common is more than worth it for discounts - it's ginormous (up near West Point on the Hudson).
for jewish food, David's Brisket deli and Katz in Brooklyn are well worth seeking out.
