losing coolant from front of engine,dripping onto sump but cant make out where its coming from, empties header tank in about 10 miles

Any chance it's from the water pump? I'm not at all familiar with the Skod layout but leaking from the water pump is a favourite for being difficult to find, especially if you've had any drive belts changed recently.

the water pump is at side of engine and the leak is at front
“Leak is at front”. Water has a funny way of finding the path of least resistance. After topping up and running the engine till hot, have a look to see if you can see steam coming from somewhere.

can see steam coming from around the grill near drivers side headlight , which incidently is same side as water pump but that area top side and bottom is bone dry of water

cant see anything on that site gingjeebee, my problem is im losing coolant quick, i can see where its dripping down front of engine but cant see wheater its a pipe or wheather its spraying from water pump round to the front,
Don't know where the coolant expansion tank is located on a Superb, but I would check all hoses on it. Make sure they are tight on the inlet / outlet necks.
Yep, my guess would be a hose.
I would also guess that the most likely case is a hose and I've also used Radweld that whiskeryron suggested - it's superb stuff :)
What's the age and mileage on the car, please?
Are you sure the Header tank is not cracked although you said from the Front of the Engine, As said the hoses & under the Jubilee Clips.
Is it coming from a puncture in the rad? I’ve used a leak sealer before. Not the liquid kind, it comes in a soft tablet that you break up into the expansion tank.
I think all these sealers work in the same way - long chain molecules which congeal on contact with air, rather like blood clotting. Tyre sealants work in the same way. I know someone who used to add Radweld to his coolant each time he changed it (it used to be an anual event many years ago) just in case he got a leak.
I have just changed the rad on mine, I do not go for Rad seal, if it's blocking up the hole / leak what else is it blocking, that's my own view.
I'm with you TWR. There's no reason it should block anything other than the hole to the outside because of the way it works but it doesn't feel a permanent solution to me - just a get-you-home.
If col could be bothered to come back to us and tell us the age/mileage of his car perhaps we might be more able to point him in the right direction - some things are more likely to be time dependant, some mileage dependant.
There's a lot that don't reply BHJ, that niggles me especially when member take their time with a response.
