I had to fix a problem with my own toe as couldn’t get into see my Podiatrist or any other for that matter.

My podiatrist said I did a really good job and she said I should consider taking up Podiatry.

I’ve given it some thought and I’m not totally against it but I’d be 35 by the time I qualified by a year in college and 4 years in Uni Part Time.

I just don’t want to waste money I don’t exactly have at something I could be wasting my time at.

The financial rewards/charges for chiropodists/podiatrists make it a worthwhile career, especially in the private sector.

237 - that’s what my Biology teacher said. I just haven’t found my true calling yet.

It’s not that I don’t want to do it Sherrard - it’s just not something I can say I ever considered. I did always want to offer help and work somewhere in health. I’m not going into this lightly though.

The things I’m passionate about I couldn’t ever do as a job and I do have hobbies but don’t think I’d get far reading for the rest of my life - I get frustrated with my crafts from time to time.

Lol ozzy!

I seem to have a knack for selling things. Been in retail for 14 years now and apparently I could sell snow to the Eskimos. But I can’t do this forever.

Will keep my options open. Will see how I feel in a few months and if I still feel like this is an option I’ll give it a bash.

That’s interesting Tambo!

[i] I’m so glad the diabetic foot one gets done at hospital though [i]
Sorry - I didn't mean to rain on your parade but it's a massive jump. Himself didn't start a full time 4 year degree until he was 28, my brother went to Cardiff University and qualified as a physiotherapist and left his job to join the police. We gave up our old lives to buy a pub (which went v badly). I get that you're excited but you have to see the bigger picture.

Don’t worry about it Sherrard. I do see where you are coming from and I appreciate you taking the time to reply.

I won’t lie it is a big decision to make. I’ll look into it further and see what other options are available and see if anything else tickles my fancy.
My OH asked me to cut his toenails recently, as he couldn't reach, for some reason. I can't bear feet or hairy toes, so I had to do it without looking.

Earlier in your thread, QoM, I thought it might be interesting to sort out people's feet problems, but now, no. You really want to do this?
not everyone is as anti-Hobbit as you, Cloverjo!

Seriously, there will always be a need for these ancillary medical services. If Queenie's good at it, and likes it, no reason why it shouldn't be her.
There are other ways to qualify; ask your chemist for introductions to chiropodists who might offer apprenticeships. This way is paye but you could qualify quicker. Good luck with your choice.
I wish you well with your decisions, Queenie......and I wish Mr Cloverjo a speedy recovery after having his toenails cut by a woman with her eyes shut!.... :-(
LOL gness.
Lol, gness. I got the clippers in the right place and then clipped, whilst gagging ://
