Hi,
I was using a Dell Optiplex GX520 but switched to a GX 780. On the old 520 I had a driver for my Panasonic KX-P1540 Printer, but this does not now appear in available download lists. How can I copy the driver from the 520 to put on the 780, I think I used an LQ1500 or something like it to operate the Printer before changing to the new (to me) 780. Can I just drag whatever it is to a memory stick? How do I find the bit I need if it`s possible at all?

Thanks in advance!!

Just a warning note first: If anyone points you towards a site called Solvusoft.com, which appears to offer a driver for your printer, do NOT download from it. A bit of googling shows that the site is a well-known source of malware. Your best chance of getting the transfer to work is to install the same driver back-up program on both machines. It's not so much the computer you're using as the operating system installed. If you have changed to a later version of windows it could well be that there are no drivers available for your printer - I lost a perfectly good printer when I moved from XP to Vista. You best plan is to go on to the Panasonic web site and see if there are any availavle under "support".

Hi BHG481,
I switched XP (520) to W7, but in the time I had the first XP and then changed to the 780 (windows 7) the driver ceased to be available for download, that`s why I wondered if it could be transferred from my old tower to the newer one. I`ve searched Panasonic as well as all the available download sites.

Your best chance of getting the transfer to work is to install the same driver back-up program on both machines. Back-up your driver(s) on the 'old' machine, copy the back-up file (via a USB stick) to the 'new' machine and then extract the back-up file there.
