It depends on your priorities, for example:
- Number of people to seat, max
- Room needed for luggage too ?
- Load space required with seats away.
- fold-down or removable seats ?
- does driveability and handling come important to you ?
- Economical or big with room and comfort.
For example, the Ford/Volkswagon/Seat Galaxy/Sharon/Alhambra is a roomy 7-seater with lots of load-space and quite nice to drive but you won't better 30 mpg in it and you need a garage to store the seats in when you want maximum load carrying. The Citroen is really just a funny-shaped five-seat estate car. A long-wheelbase Landrover makes an interesting alternative - particularly if you like camping trips.
dont touch the land-rover, Best I've ever driven is the vw sharan, the 1.9 tdi will go for ever without costing too much in running costs.
shran by far dont go near the ford galaxy, you will think george best is in your tank
The Galaxy and Sharon are the same car (as is the Alhambra) - perhaps somebody got a faulty one ? Only go near a diesel if you are totally obsessed with getting an extra mile out of every gallon and don't care much about pollution. If you are concerned about running costs, total running costs, not just fuel, then a LandRover converted to run on LPG has to be best over long (and I do mean LONG) term ownership. Dunno what sun050 might have against LandRovers. They are truely multi-purpose (you did ask for MPV advice) and are cheap and easy to work on. Once you get a bit of snow on the roads, or flooding from a burst water main, or need to get across a muddy field, then they are the one mpv which will manage it. Also, they are made in Britain - so when you buy one you are helping to support our economy and create employment, instead of giving our money and jobs to a foreign country.
