I have a computer on my desk and a tower on the floor. There are lots of cables going between wall, computer and tower. If I get laptop, will I be able to get rid of need for tower? I really want to get rid of all the cables.

Yes. Like a mobile phone it just has a charger.
I have an all in one desktop which means the computer is built in to the monitor. I have a 25" as I like a big screen. With a wireless mouse and wireless keyboard there is only one cable - from the pc to the plug socket. I think it is a very neat solution. Here are some examples:

So you have a keyboard and a monitor on your desk and the computer is the tower on the floor? what do the “lots of cables? do? Is one of them to connect a printer or a scanner?
Well the tower and the monitor both have a cable to be plugged in and so does the keyboard and mouse if they aren't wireless.

My works computer is like hc describes and it's very neat. Everything to go with it is wireless.
Maybe lyn has her pc connected by ethernet cable, too.

thanks all. I'm just a big scaredy!
I hate wires too. Even though no one really touches them they still get tangled.
Lyn...laptops are easy, you can take them on holiday. I have a pink one :-)
I suppose its how much money you want to spend.

I had a small 15'' and wanted a larger screen, so I bought a 25'' monitor, and attached it to my small laptop with a small cable, with a wireless keyboard, and any other cables, are hidden under my coffee table.
