What Was Your Best Investment Ever?

Back in 1994, I got a small bonus from work - about £100 - and decided to treat myself to a bottle of a thirty year old Malt that I'd read a 5 star review of in The Graun that week.
It had to be ordered specially by Oddbins in Solihull, who couldn't believe that anyone would actually want a bottle given the ridiculous price. It cost me £93 ... quite a lot of people thought I was mad.
I never got round to opening that special bottle - there was always a better occasion 'coming soon' to breach it - so it sat unopened in my cellar/cupboard until this week.
I have just received the cash from selling that bottle of Black Bowmore 1964/1994 - and am exactly £5,000 richer than I was at this time yesterday.
I make that aout 19% per annum compound interest.
The Guinness is on me at the quiz tonight ...

Having done a bit of research and it seems it may be even more desireable than a new bottle, even if it's just to compare !
Does anyone else find when they 'Google' something ... it opens up a whole new tin of worms. Before you
know it you spend hours reading about something you have no interst in .. or is it just me ?
Some interesting reading found here if you are in doubt as to whether you should attempt to drink old whisky or not.

Mine is also whiskey based Kilbeggan 15, they only made a 1000 bottles we were lucky enough to get 3! hubby has drank one entirely, 2nd one is being drunk per tipple on New Years Eve and one that will never be opened as it is in a presentation box - cost 50 Euro we were offered £500 for it last month!! He is holding onto it for a little longer.
Also, a Laphroaig Cairdeas 2015 bought for £75 two years ago now worth £275. He also has the 2016!
These are all ones that he will sell at retirement age!!
