does anyone watch this. I wondered where the money that the teams are given
comes from.

These programmes are made in multiples of say four per day at the same location with the same experts in attendance, ditto at the auction some weeks later, so they will have their own facilities for the crew of a dozen or so, one of whom will have a bag of dosh.
As for the standards of driving on the Antiques Road Trip, it's very rare to see them on a public highway and when you do they've probably just hopped in to drive the old jalopy a few yards into camera shot. The roads they are filmed on where the car is obviously not on a trailer are inevitably about ten feet wide and are probably on a private estate....the map shows the experts "driving" sometimes hundreds of miles around Britain...I don't think so, they will travel in some luxury in a more modern vehicle, probably equipped with a bar etc. while the company supplying the old cars moves them around on the back of a truck ready for the next shoot.
