Help! I was with my ex for 6 and a half years and broke up with her a few months ago. I have since met a lovely new woman. She is perfect for me, everything I want in a partner. Yet this morning I have woke up pining for my ex, desperate to call her! How can I get rid of this horrible feeling? I really like my new gurl and want things to work out but obviously need to stop feeling this way about my ex. What makes it worse is that I know she would have me back in a flash. Advice please!!!!!

Think about why you broke up with your ex in the first place.Get a piece of paper and write down all the things that were wrong about the relationship. Then write down all the things that are good about the new one.Hopefully you will soon be able to see exactly why you are with the new girl and not the old.Good luck.
I think the hardest thing about ending a longterm relationship is knowing that you will be losing the person who knows everything about you. When times are hard, or you feel sad, or even elated, you want to share those moments with somebody who truly understands you and appreciates you.

Fizzy is right though. I'm sure there is a valid reason why you both broke up. You have a lovely partner now so concentrate on building a close bond with them. It does take time but it'll be worth it in the long run. x
Maybe you were a bit hasty in setting up a new relationship so soon after you broke up with your ex ~ after all, 6 years is a very long time (nowadays anyway!)

If thinking about the reason you split up doesn't help you then maybe you should be questioning why you are with your current partner? even though you know yourself she is 'everything you want' this doesn't appear to be the case.

Sorry, but in my experience once it is over it is over..there is no use in looking back unless you want to get back together..and if your ex feels the same then great. If you aren't fully into your new partner then it isn't very fair on her is it? nobody can tell you how to stop feeling this way but yourself.

Good luck!
I know how you feel.I went out with a girl but mstill loved my ex.I am noe back with my ex and we are very happy.Follow your heart. It is usually correct.
