A lot is said about Mercedes and BMW plans to build these cars in Mexico, and Trump threatens huge import taxes if that happens.

But both companies have been building cars in German and them exporting them to America, where they are enthusiastically bought by Americans.

So what is it so different if they built in Mexico ?

My guess alos would be most BMW/Mercs are bought in NY area and the West coast both full of lefty luvvies so he wont loose any support!

he's not. as it stands at the moment, a bmw if built in mexico would be a Mexican import and therefore exempt from certain tariffs under NAFTA. Trump wants to renegotiate NAFTA to end this.

here's a clever trick, get a famous car manufacturer to start building cars in Mexico,immigrants will pour over the border into Mexico. Illegal immigration solved. Clever or what ?
