A powerful (not democratic) nation sees one of its political adversaries going to democratic elections, Powerful nation thinks candidate A in office rather than B would be better for powerful nation's interest. Powerful nation uses its "Intelligence Services" to find out what's going on. (I think their methods may be "overt" or "covert", whatever distinction that implies). Powerful nation devizes ways of "influencing" the electoral process of its adversary by producing negative news about B and none about A (oh, and "fake news" flattering the one at the expense of the other). All very naughty stuff given the universally accepted principle of C keeping his or her nose out of D's election.

Given the fact that Putin has got his puppet into power by subterfuge you have to ask how the combined weight Obama, Clinton, Soros, CNN, Hollywood, Merkel, BBC etc failed. Was there or was there not a campaign against Mr Nasty persistent and unrelenting? Didn't they try hard enough? Where did they go wrong?
Were they, perhaps, too nice,

Ugh...'nothing to see'.

So with conflicting news agency reports, it's understandable why those who voted for Trump may have simply thought the whole story was hokum.

The Washington Post printing hokum stories about hacking would definitely have made people think that it could all be hokum.
sp: "If there's nothing to so, why did you post effectively the same question??? " - note the times, it was the answers i received from the afore mentioned question that enabled me to determine this is normal hustings.
Errr...yes -Talbot-.

Yes indeed.
If you want to be patronising sp ... at least try and discredit my post.

Which begs the question, why would British intelligence services lie?

Are you saying that the Washington Post story was hokum?

Which Washington Post story?

You'd have to go to the Washington Post site. There's an article there from October 31st, but I can't extract info from it, because the site has a pay wall, and I've exceeded the number of articles I can read for free.

You can find it if you search for:

"Clinton campaign accuses FBI director of ‘double standard’ in email probe"

The subheading is:

"Comey reportedly declined to put out an FBI statement linking hacking to Russians seeking to influence the race."

"Influence" the election? (Let him who is without sin...)
Or "rig" it? (Naughty, naughty)
Listen to Obama on Trump's £Well, I'll accept the result if I win".

Re two of the remarks here.

Where did Merkel come from? Dunno. Maybe I just chucked her on to the scale like Brennus' sword . "Vae victis" and all that. (That's for Peter Pedant if he's looking in).

And the last red I drank was a Gigondas from Sainsbury's. Cost me quite a lot.
I've read all your posts again sp but I'm still confused.

v_e; Well for a Muslim with a fake birth certificate I'd say he has had a good run.
Sainsburys? Rumour has it you're having it delivered by tanker and the neighbours think its central heating oil being pumped in.

Facepalm.

Not sure what I've written that confuses you, so I don't know what to clarify.
"Given the fact that Putin has got his puppet into power by subterfuge....."

So the voting had nothing to do with it then ?........
And about that voting , do the population of the powerful democratic nation require the news media from a less powerful undemocratic nation to prompt them which way to vote ?....
Have you stopped to think that millions of Americans who support Trump WANT better relations with Russia ?....

Where did the Democrats go wrong ? - I can suggest six words , uttered long before Trump announced he was standing :
" We came , we saw , he died ."
Would you vote for that ?

Previous video showed Obama deriding the suggestion that an election could be rigged. This second video discusses possible challenges to the result AFTER the election. Here two hacks (not as po-faced as the androids on CNN) talk about legal challenges to the result - recounts, but not lobbying of the electoral college among them. Described as "unprecedented", "contrary to our tradition of the peaceful transfer of power", and even "subversive. All this, of course, predicated on a Hillary victory.

Oh, I doubt that many of you watched the Jan 6th official announcement of the electoral college voting. At least four challenges to the legitimacy of the count in those states (presumably based on residency and other small print issues). None endorsed as is legally required by a senator.
