It's our 49th wedding anniversary today and as I was downstairs first this morning I put his card on the coffee table ready for him to open. He came down, took one look at the card and said "Oh no it's not today is it? I'll just go out and get the daily paper". Expecting a grotty card from the corner shop I was quite surprised when he came back and gave me scratchcard instead. He said all the cards in the shop were not suitable so rather than come home emptyhanded he bought me a scratchcard. When I scratched it off I won £50, 2 x £20 and a £10. So £100 better off. I think he is forgiven but he'd better remember next year.

Nice one & Happy Anniversary! :-)
Wow, good result.
My dad never remembered his and my mum's anniversary. As long as he's a decent bloke, which yours obviously is, it doesn't matter too much, does it?

He foolishly said that if I won anything it was all mine. Rubs hands together with glee. Thanks to all for the good wishes. Will probably treat him to a meal out.
That's fantasic, BD!
I could never remember ours.....but memory man did......and that delighted him......I've been known to lock myself in the bathroom frantically making him a card.......

Happy Anniversary......x
congratulations on 49 years xx and what a lovely bonus £100 xx

As we are both still in our sixties I commented that with a bit of luck we may have another twenty years together. Don't know whether the look on his face was one of horror or just wind! Thanks for the good wishes. Have good evening all.
Happy anniversary to you both, he might have forgotten but he made up for it.
He sounds a nice man. Congratulations on your anniversary.
Enjoy yourselves
Congratulations
To many cards about now .Is there one for I seen a big red lorry going by you house .
Well theres a result..well done you! I have to look the date up every year (quick peek at the wedding certificate does it.) Then it is hint dropping to himself...subtle of course.....e.g. 'where shall I book for our anniversary?' That seems to sort him out....!!!!!

Mrs B sorted our Wedding Day, we were about to change jobs, move house and get Married. The only thing we had control over was the Wedding, she chose 10/9/87 allegedly so I wouldn't forget it ;o)
I don't think your husband is alone in forgetting, the majority of my male patients have no clue which year they were married in when I ask them.
Co-incidentally, my Mum was sorting through some papers today and found her original marriage certificate, which correctly identifies the date she was married on in 1963 at the top, but is signed at the bottom as being in 1968 (she'd never noticed this before).
he'd better remember the 50th!
Nice one! :-)
