Is 80 ok for an adult male I do suffer from anxiety which I suppose raises it

normal is 60-100 - so you'll probably survive breadstick :-)
80 bpm is perfectly normal.

Anyway (within reasonable limits obviously!) it doesn't matter much what your resting heart rate is, or what it is at peak activity. What does indicate how fit (or otherwise) you are though is how long it takes your heart to get back to its resting rate after you cease physical activity. If it's almost instant you're probably super fit; if it takes many minutes you're probably extremely unfit.
