I have been trained to clean the tube, nebulise, use RIG for feeding and administering meds. What I find hard to manage is how to expel the phlegm that builds up. The training is patchy and I'm going home soon. Everyone is so busy! Are there any youtube videos that might give practical advice? Does anyone know any forums or help groups. Appreciate any help.

oh dear sorry to hear of your travails...you will be given a care package before you go home..home visits from nurse who will be able to demonstrate to you...best wishes xx
Make sure you tell the nurses that you need more help to manage this before you are discharged. They are always busy but this is important so let them know.
I so agree with everything that has been said above. It is important that you make the health professionals realise that you are not confident that the help you have received has been enough, and that you need more support. Don't be afraid to ask for what you need, and to express your fears if you still do not feel confident. I wish you all the best and hope you can get the help you need. Hugs.
