I know that there are a lot of you out there from the answers that you give. I am just curious as to what Tony Blair would have to do to lose your vote?

Personally, I float between Lib Dem and Conservative. There are various things that I agree with on both policies and various things I disagree with.

It seems from some of the answers that people give that despite the 'good' economy (1 billion pounds worth of personal debt is good???) and the fiasco over Iraq, people still seem to love Balir.

Question: what would stop you from voting for him?

Redshoot,  I've no axe to grind or any hidden agenda to follow - as I have said before,  they (all politicians) are all liars in my opinion, and personally I would not vote for any of them.

Who do you think said these things:

a) The advice given by the Solicitor General was unequivocal in supporting the case for war.

b) The intelligence we had pointed unambiguously towards Sadam Hussain possessing Weapons of Mass Destruction.

c) I certainly did not authorise anyone to release Dr David Kelly's name to the press.?

If you get the answer to my question right, then can we assume that you will not be voting for Mr Bliar??!!

So if Blair is a liar how come he has not been impeached or the British equivalent? mike1222 and looks likely to get re-elected Im going to give Labour my vote.

If there was someone really likeable standing for the Tories I would be more likely to consider them. I think Tony comes across as a normal type of person, likeable, with a sense of humour etc. We can identify with him more than we can identify with a snooty old duffer in a posh blue suit. I think that's what makes him the lesser of the evils. But I am deeply unhappy about voting for him this time around. I don't trust him anymore, but I don't trust the others either.
Mike1222 If they are all liars then Blair is no worse than Howard or Kennedy.
The correct answer is: T"he formation of the AB party", we believe in open, honest and free debate, fairness to all, and everything else that is good.

paula.e and scarlett - you, like counless others have been taken in by Bliar.  He has nurtured this persona of normality and approachability - probably been coached. The man is a practised and accomplished bare-faced liar!!

Redshoot - I quite agree with you Bliar is no worse than Kennedy or Howard, but you are the one who is prepared to vote for a liar, not I.

Without Blair in charge I would vote Labour. I cannot, however, forgive his apparent lies regarding the situation in Iraq. Does he think that he's the only one capable of understanding the micro-politics involved in such a situation. If he were strong enough to say, ''We need to get Saddam out with or without WOMD'', then he would have gained more trust from the public. Trying to manipulate the public's support was patronising and demeaning.
I don't buy into this propaganda that blair is a vote loser... lets see next thursday shall we...the people who hate blair never supported him in the 1st place...i find it sad that there are people in this country who seem to use the word hate to describe any politician in a democratic country, i reserve that word for genuine evil politicians like saddam, pinochet, mugabe, hitler, stalin etc..

Well Said luckyboy.

The problem with Blair is he wants to be a history maker. He wants to be the longest servicing PM and he wants to be the  PM that took us into the EURO.  I am cincinced if he took us into the EURO tomorrow he would resign the next day.  But I would still  vote labour.  No way would I vote Tory.
Anyway, who says the economy is going well? OK, interest rates are low. But I'd rather pay 10% on a house that cost 70,000 than 5% on one that cost 200,000 !!!!
The economy is doing ok now, just. I would like to see Labour win so that they can sort out the mess they are creating for the next parliament, and face up to the inevitable tax rises (another lie) needed to fund their excessive expenditure. The Tories would be mad to want to win this election. They would inherit a shambles and would be blamed for creating it in their first term! This government has thrown hardworking taxpayers money at the unproductive economy and created more and more bureaucracy that stifles the enterprise that is needed to grow the economy to keep these bureaucrats in jobs. Its a downward spiralling staircase and I hope that next parliament people will see Labour for what they truly are, only a more moderate version of the socialism that has not worked in the past. Maybe worse, because the pain takes longer to register.

I'm not politically minded in the least and making heads and tails of the Iraq question is hard, but didn't the Torys vote to go to war as well, thus supporting Labor. What does that make Howerd and company. Howerd says he would have gone to war to if he had been in charge. What excuse would he have given if not the same as Blairs excuse. It seems he would have said'There are no WMD's but lts go anyway.' After all I thought thats what this was all about WMD's. Howerd as a terrible excuse for a politician and so are many of the others. Is there not one of them that can tell the truth for just a moment. that is, after all, what we the public want.

Eupraxia

I know this thread is old but i just wanted to add something. I vote in Sedgefield. I vote Labour and always will. Why ?, many of you might not know but the Sedgefield area is made up of a lot of small former mining villages - for many years it was the labour party that stood up for the rights of these workers, then along came the torries and closed all the mines, memories last a long time here, so what ever Blair does it does not matter here cause this area will never vote in anything other that Labour. Fact.
