Yes - but if you are thinking stand-by = cheap, forget it. You will pay the maximum possible fare for the flight you go on.

thanks dzug. yes it was partly for cheapness, partly for a last minute idea. no cheap standbys now then? i wonder why.

because airlines have realised that if people need to get somewhere, theres no point in letting them do it cheaply. I live on an island, and its outrageous how the price can change from �50 return to �350 return in just a few weeks, and then go back down again! (half term=twice price)


try www.skyscanner.net for cheap flights, (find out what airline is doing the cheap flight and then check their site direct).
