http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3539510/Two-migrants-trying-row-Channel-DINGHY-saved-rescuers-spot-light-mobile-phone.html

if they had mobile phones on them their previous whereabouts can be easily traced, so there wont be any mistakes as to where they came from...why cant they be dragged back to France and dumped on the shore there ?...

AOG napping or just not in reach of a TV today?

@T3

Shall we amuse ourselves with a chart of oil-tanker and container ship stopping distances and steering characteristics?

Apologies, baz. I was switching between threads without looking at OPs properly.
Any chance the frogs are, as we speak, flogging and ordering hundreds more dinghies. Perhaps from Germany.
There’s no real need to consider advanced technology. Anybody found in a rubber boat in the English Channel off Dover can only have come from either England or France. They would be unlikely to survive travelling from any other country of origin and even if they did those countries would be EU members (Belgium, Holland or Spain – none of which are remotely feasible looking at where these two were intercepted).

As ever, these two people are not asylum seekers. They lost that right when they failed to report to the authorities in the first safe country they arrived in. This was almost certainly not France, but that’s their problem. Under both the UN and EU rules they should be returned to their last known port of call. But of course they won’t and that is why Europe will face this problem forevermore (or until Europe descends into a third world kharzi and it is no longer the destination of choice for illegal migrants because it's worse than where they left). It simply has no stomach to deal with it properly.

It would appear we're assisting them now.
Transport these intrepid sea-farers, along with their inflatable boat, to the west coast of NI; give them some honey and lots of money wrapped up in a five pound note; and tell them to set sail for Canada.
They'll all try it on this way now when news gets through that these two were successful !!
Sorry I am late on parade Hypognosis.

I warned about this weeks ago, when the crossing of the Mediterranean was at it's peak.

The Channel crossing although dangerous is much narrower and the hordes in the former Calais Jungle just as desperate to get to the land of milk and honey, England.

But will we put them up in camps, no we are far too tolerant for that, much better in Hotels, B&Bs etc, until such times we can provide them with a nice self contained little flat or even a semi.
The law of our beloved EU is quite clear on this, send them back to the furst safe country, now where is that I wonder.

Hypo: W_T_F are you on about? can someone translate I don't speak plonker.
"Safe" countries are becoming increasingly rare, 3Ts.

There is some piece of vermin in court today appealing against being extradited to Greece. His appeal (which of course is based on Yuman Rites) is not on the usual basis (needs to be here to look after his cat, cannot be sent abroad because he is gay, etc. etc). His extradition request comes from Greece but he claims he should not be sent there as conditions in Greek prisons are inhumane. Oh Dear, how sad, never mind!
