Good evening all
Daughter bought me a Kindle Paperwhite for Christmas, all has been ok until this week. Charged it on Saturday night, used it Sunday night, Monday night, battery level down to approx 30%. Tried to use it today, wouldn't switch on. Did a restart (after checking on Amazon website) got it started and now fully charged. Would it make a difference using other than the Kindle adaptor to charge ? The output on the "Kindle" adaptor is 0.85 amp, my adaptor/s have an average of 2.1 amps. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I always use the charger that came with my kindle.
I`ve used a variety of chargers on mine with no issues. I`ve recently fitted a double wall socket with 2 USB charger sockets included and its fine with that also.

No need at all to use the Kindle charger. I think ours only came with a USB lead and we always charge with a mains-to-USB adapter - the same idea as Crapatcryptics but a plug-in version, rather than built into the mains socket.
My Kindle suffered those sort of discharge rates until I was advised to switch to aeroplane mode when I wasn't downloading to it - I now get much much longer discharge times.

BHG : My sentiments exactly as Amazon say you should use the Amazon adaptor although they don't supply one nor do they sell them anymore !
Canary : Always have mine in aeroplane mode except when downloading.
Thanks for all the answers folks.
