Tinned dog food is supposed to be ok. Don't put bread and milk down, it doesn't do them any good.
My 4year old grand daughter assures me that hedgehogs and snails like chicken nuggets with vegebatles. :-)
Hi, we were always told as children to leave small amounts of dog food as it is meat based,as are worms, beetles etc, and contain vitamins and minerals.
Cat food ,cat biscuits as long as it is not fish based . Also sultanas.
Not milk or bread
tinned dog or cat food but no processed food.
got to hand it to you if you recognize species of animal by its poo!

and the rspca said this.

"Leave out foods like minced meat, tinned dog or cat food (not fish-based), crushed cat biscuits, or chopped boiled eggs. Specialist hedgehog food can also be bought from wild bird food suppliers. Never feed hedgehogs milk as it can cause diarrhoea; instead provide plain, fresh water in a shallow bowl."

Dave.

Hedgehog food is best. I buy it in Wilko and ours love it. Also seen it in the large Pet Shops.
Can't believe I went looking for hedgehog poo in Google!

But here ya go...this is apparently hoggy poop.

So there are people who go out with a ruler and a penny photographing poo!
Mum buys her hedgehog food in Wilko too and they really tuck in ....
I think, the recent mild, wet weather has stopped them hibernating, at least for a while, luckily there should also be a good supply of worms and slugs etc, available.

That purpose made hedgehog food, suggested my 'Maydup' looks to me, the best way to go.

Many thanks for all your answers, I have bought some small tins of beef dog food to leave out, hopefully that will build them up before it starts to freeze next week (yes I did open the tin and put it in a dish) sorry retrocop but I didn't have any vegebatles.
Sorry I didn't answer before, I had to change my browser to make it possible.
