I have no problems with other websites, but whenever I log into The Answerbank my laptop mad and typing stops and starts (it just did again) and sometimes the page just won't respond. Is this just me more general problem (all those ads I presume)?

My advice is stay away from Google unless you are prepared to have every one of your movements on the Internet recorded. I was right to think that perhaps you were using Internet Explorer. In fact, even Ab Editor acknowledges that there are problems on compatibility with IE. See what he has said as a final posting in the following thread.:-...

...my laptop fan goes mad... and often bits of my typing don't catch up!

you have posted a bit late for the AB techies. Hans is always very helpful and I suggest you try to wake him up tomorrow by reposting your problem.Sorry I can't help you. If Hans advises you all he requires is a feedback as to how you get on with the good advice he freely offers.
I have this problem when using my tablet often have to turn off as it freezes.
I've had this problem a couple of times this evening (on an Apple iMac) - sorted it out by reload.

I'm wondering if it's an advert misbehaving.
It can help to know, what laptop you are using. Also, what operating system and browser is employed. ?

I am wondering if perhaps you have Internet Explorer as your default Browser. If so, I am Not surprised that you are having problems with AB.

Hans.
I’ve often felt like throwing my tablet out the window when using AB on it. I’m often half way through typing something when the keyboard will disappear only to reappear 30 seconds later.
i grow weary of the badly constructed advert "long running script" issue that plagues this site consistently - and unlike others i don't have the option of switching to browsers that support efficient adblockers, this PC is a company resource for which I'm not an administrator.

in fact, to write and post this, i've had to create it on word and then hope the page remains active long enough for me to cut 'n paste.

That all sounds just like my experience of AB - on my W8.1 laptop with IE11. Perhaps I'll try Chrome after all.....

Personally, I would opt for Firefox, which is my default Browser.

Thanks HansU - Firefox is now downloaded and a new learning curve has arrived! But Firefox has opened AB and it is running freely at the moment. Looks good :-)
Thanks for the Best Answer. I'll quickly whisper that Firefox has a lot of add-ons; one at least which will cut-out troublesome adds which cause problems when surfing AB.

Added. Thanks Hans

Hans - you may not get this, but Firefox is now my browser and is excellent - esp for AB. Thanks again
Hi cracker222.....I really do appreciate your having up-dated me on the matter.

There's no doubt amongst Techies that Internet Explorer is looked upon as being a troublesome Browser, whereas Firefox is thought of as being a far superior performer.

Cheers.....Hans.
