I'm with Shoota. Chub are not game fish. The Char is a gamefish. Char are found in most Scottish lakes. It's the Vendace that is only found in the lake district. Only in Bassenthwaite I think

Wikipedia must be wrong also because it describes Chub as a freshwater fish of the Carp family.
I'm not an angler but is not any fish that is angled for a game fish?

Although it is not a hard and fast distinction Danny, generally speaking game fish are fished for with a fly or lure and coarse fish are fished for with bait, either natural or artificial.

Salmon and trout will take a bait, partial to prawns. Most coarse fish will rise to a fly, particularly perch, barbel, and believe it or not pike.
