Best answer is Chub. Many thanks to you all
Chub
(Actually it is a 'coarse' fish, not a 'game' fish.)
Are you 100% sure of the 'B' because it could be the 'Char' which is a game fish?
May have to blame the dictionary, that's how some have it...

Collins describes Chub identical to the clue. Almost all S Express clues correspond with Collins definitions.
//Coarse fishing is a term used in the United Kingdom and Ireland for angling for coarse fish. Coarse fish are freshwater fish that are distinguished from game fish. Freshwater game fish are all salmonids – most particularly salmon, trout and char – so generally coarse fish are freshwater fish that are not salmonids.//

How would one notify them of such an error? (The chub is a member of the Carp family - Cyprinidae.)
Absolutely correct, shoota.
Contact Collins Dictionary.

Is the Char European?
The Arctic Char has a very limited distribution in the UK, mainly in the Lake District I believe.
(I've never seen one, they are very rare.)
Arctic Char I think. Although there is a rare Welsh one in a reservoir somewhere.
And a Carp is described in Collins as a freshwater teleost food fish.
Lake Bala?
Ta for that - Chambers has Char as a river fish , no mention of coarse or game so the choice of dictionary used is what has caused this mix up.
Chambers has 'Chub' sorry, I am muxed up too^^^
