if you search in google video for Dr. Kent Hovind, you'll find his main 2 lectures that go into the arguments in great depth. All about how the Grand Canyon was formed almost instantly by the great flood at the time of Noah etc etc.
The problem is that there is no logic. It makes no sense at all.

A friend of mine is heavily Christian. She doesn't believe in evolution, dinosaurs, or any of that stuff. I once asked her about the dinosaurs thing, and how she explains the really old bones people dig up and piece together. Her words were "It's probably a conspiracy."
It's a conspiracy alright, the religionist conspiracy against reason. Get a person to doubt the evidence of their own mind and they are yours.
Yes, the main problem is that religious fundementalists have the best cop-out of all time which is the word "faith".

You see, by definition, if you have faith, you don't need logic, and (from their point of view) having logic on your side is a BAD THING, because, with logic, you don't need faith, but faith is a requirement of religion. This is catch 22 to the power of umptee-squillion.

I once asked some fundamentalist aquaintances how they explained that, given that the only animals on earth are supposed to be descended from those saved by Noah, how come there isn't a trail fo kangaroos from Mt Arrarat to Australia. Their answer "We have to assume that if God could get all the animals on the Ark in an orderly fashion, the he could arrange for their orderly redistribution after the flood".

It always used to be 4004 BC so I'm not sure what's happened to nearly double the age.

It's really not necessary to explain anything - anything inconvenient has been put there by God (or Satan come to that) to test the faith of believers.

The most common form of mental illness in the world is the delusion of religion.
If you have time try getting a book by Prof Richard Dawkins called' The Ancestors Tale' (A Pilgrimage to the Dawn of Life). Then you won't have to put up with the nonsense spouted by Creationists et al. It is a fact that there are insects which have become embalmed in amber(petrified gum from trees) for 100 million years. Kinda predates the 10,000 year old theory by quite a bit doesn't it.
I really should have added that the 'Pilgrimage' is a journey of 4 billion years.

i know that its all rubbish.i have no doubt about any of that.but could someone answer me where they get the 10000 year old thing.any ideas anyone.i am sure its riduclous and has no logic behind it and i am intrigued to as how they firgure it at 10000 years
Actually it is nearer 5000 years than 10000. If you look at population growth starting from Adam and Eve then over a period of 5000 years you arrive at roughly the population of the planet today. Read a very interesting book some years ago called The Genesis Flood by two americans (Morris and Whitcolmb - possibly) it was very convincing on the subject. Also read somewhere about NASA letting a computer search back through the movements of the planets. Apparently it detected the earth stopping as mentioned in the Old Testement in the days of Hezikia (unsure of spelling). Any one got any views on this?

UH the question is about the age of planet earth not when the 'human' population started procreating. You are not even close because I think you will find that true evolution of 'mankind is nearer 40,000 years not 5,000. Even basic history acknowledges that the Egyptions had a well developed society some 4,000 years ago. I guess that you based your simple answer on a logarithmic base to the power of 2. It ain't that simple is it. May work for an isolated island society such as Tasmania was, but there are many other variables to consider. What Adam and Eve have to do with anything I don't know.
