This is a quadratic expression which may be factorised into two binomial terms i.e. (x+6)(x+4).

(x+6) x (x+4)

The second x being multiply

In this example you need to find the factors of 24 which when added together give 10 (the x term), namely 6 & 4.

i.e. 6x4 = 24 and 6+4 = 10

therefore the answer is (x+6)(x+4)

If the equation had been x + 10x - 24 you would need to find the factors of 24 which have a difference of 10 - 12 & 2.

i.e. 12x-2 = -24 and 12-2=10 which gives (x+12)(x-2)

cheers...hey u couldnt help me with this aswell? hence solve....x2 + 10x + 24 =0
(x+4)(x+6)=O If the product of two numbers is zero then one of them must be zero therefore either x+4= 0and x= -4 or x+6=0 and x= -6
