When I saw the word crotch, I was reminded of a story doing the rounds in the 70s of tan Aussie rugby team who were told they had to wear a tie into the dining-room of a grand Ilkley hotel. One allegedly came down wearing a tie and nothing else, with the tie not tied round his neck.

A properly tied and worn necktie must be silk or wool and must just cover the belt buckle with the narrow end one inch above the wider end...

I had a go at my blokes this morning but to no avail so Ive ordered them ties on elastic coz they made a fuss about knots.
