Washing Ties??

I dont know where to put this, so I thought id stick it in here. How do i wash my ties? If I put them in the washing machine will this ruin them, do I have to handwash or buy new ties?

i would think dry cleaning would be a better option.

Oh yeah but istn it expensive? i dont wanna have to pay for a dry cleaning bill when i could wash it at home

I pur a tie in the wash once and it was ruined dry clean only ties

I think they will be OK in the washing machine, if you put them in one of those wash bags, but be careful check the material that they are made of ie silk or polyester.

I've ruined ties trying to wash them. If you must try it, try it on one you don't care about first.

No matter what material the tie is made from, if you took it apart you would probably find a cheap cotton fabric inside it. If you put this in the washing machine it will bunch up through the machine action, and may even also shrink as it dries. The tie will be ruined. Dry cleaning or new ties are the only answers, I'm afraid.

As the others have said dry cleaning is the only answer. I'll add my name to the growing list of peoplw who have tried and failed.

and me.....sure i was about �4 to get silk tie dry-cleaned !
