/// ANOTHEOLDGIT, as you have read the article you will know he is to be addressed as an Honorable Member so what was the point of your question? ///

To encourage debate, isn't that what this site is all about?
I completely fail to understand why Jeremy Corbin blows some many people's skirts up!

He is a staunch republican who has been quietly peddling his strictly socialist views for as long as he has been an MP - with little fuss.

Now, due to a bizarre set of circumstances, he finds himself Leader of the Labour Party, and to his credit, he has done nothing more than maintain his position, and refuse to be a hypocrite.

He will be long gone before the next election, so why can't people keep things in perspective?
He'd be happy with Komrade Cornwall blimey....
Given the chance he will sell this country down road....His spectacular naivety re finance and defence and global strategy would doom us the minute we face a military threat from overseas...He lives in a very simplistic dogma infuenced utopia...Unfortunately for him it's all in his head and not in the real world

He is as much a threat to the nation's future as the eussr...
Cornwall !!! Correct blimey...predictive text...
Cor blimey !!!!

Really?

Mr Corbyn is currently leader of HM Opposition, and has about as much chance of being in a position of power and influence as I have of dating the divine Alison King!

Actually, I stand a far better chance with Ms King!!!!!
Read what I said..."Given the chance ". ...
Hopefully he won't. ..but then most people didn't think he'd become leader of the Lying bores party

Tut, Tut, sexist implications.

I did read what you said, thank you.

'Hopefully'?

If Labour can't get elected with a wonk like Milliband who wore a suit and kissed bottoms like he got a thousand pounds each time, and was about as offensive as a baby rabbit, do you seriously think they have a chance with Corbyn, who rejoices in being about six feet to the left of Karl Marx and won't compromise on anything whatsoever?

Read my post, especially the sentence ending in the word 'perspective' - that's the most important bit.
AOG - ///// I completely fail to understand why Jeremy Corbin blows some many people's skirts up! ///

Only if you are fond of seeing implications that clearly are not there!

Please let's not start again - shall we?

mr corbyn may very well be six feet to the left of Karl Marx and totally uncompromising, but he's surprisingly on message for some, and he's getting a lot of the right sort of attention, other than for his, umm, dress sense or that barking policy of corbynomics. not sure you could write him off like that andy, particularly if the conservatives mismanage the economy over the next 3-4 years.

Even assuming that the Conservatives do make a complete hash of the economy, I still believe that they would receive a large amount of votes, not because the voters do want whomever replaces Cameron, but because they absolutely do not want Mr Corbyn.

The policies and positions he advocates couldn't get Foot and Kinnock elected then - they cannot get Corbyn elected now.

The political landscape has altered out of all recognition from the days when outright socialism was seen as desirable in a government - Blair stood well to the right of it in order to secure his election, and Milliband was incapable of shaking off the baggage of New Labour.

By the time elections come around, Labour will have found a leader who is at least within hailing distance of Number Ten, and anything above that will be seen as a bonus.
These forms of address are historical. My (Rt) Honourable friend is used for people of your own party, the (Rt) Honourable member (gentleman, lady) for those of other parties. Those who are also barristers are (Rt) Hon. and learned..., whilst former commissioned officers of the forces are (Rt) Hon. and gallant....
I thought all MPs were rt honourable....

If one is not admitted to the privy council how does one MP address another ?

oi ... mushy ?
jerk face ?
"Even assuming that the Conservatives do make a complete hash of the economy, "

but one thing you can be sure of..it wont be as large a hash as labour do with a frightening consitancy...
All members are honourable. Those who are Privy Councillors are Right honourable. This is a third person form of address. Only the Speaker is allowed to use personal names.
yeah even ed balls said that the main task of the labour party was to persuade the country the party could run the economy
The Rag? [a term applied to a no-hoper in a horse race especially those at odds of 200/1] ;)
I am sure he would answer to Corbyn and not make a fuss.
God's Holy Trousers.
I believe I agree with that. Better get to bed and lie down now.
