Travel agent changing terms of booking!!!

Me and my partner booked a holiday to Mexico last night in store, on the terms that after paying my deposit I would need to pay 50% of the balance by 24th Oct. Arriving at work this morning the travel agents emailed me and said that she had made a mistake and would need to take the 50% in 3 days.

I could get my deposit back but we really want to stick with holiday but we just cannot pay until the date she specified. Nor should we have to go down that route as she stated the dates which is why we commited.

Anyone got any pointers??

Thanks!

I have never had to pay 50% ,after paying deposit I have always had to pay the balance approx.6 to 8 weeks before departure date. What date do you travel and who is your tour operator ?.What does it say in the brochure about payment.
if you can't pay then your only choice is to get the deposit back
Perhaps speak to the store manager, and politely but firmly ask him or her to revert to the originally agreed terms.
If you have the date of 24th October in writing, then I can't think they have a leg to stand on. But even if the agent is admitting to making a mistake, it's still her fault and not yours. I agree with above and suggest you stick to your guns. It's up to them to sort it out not you.
