clio front end noise

my '95 clio 1.4 has a steadily increasing rumble from the front that seems to match road speed. it dissapears whhen i steer to the right. what can it be?

sounds like one of your front wheel bearings is on the fritz, thankfully this is not too expencive to replace, as long as you don't go to a franchised dealer!

Yep, sounds like a wheel bearing, most probably the off-side (right hand) one.  Jack the front of the car up and spin the wheel.  You'll be able to hear the rumble.

Of course, take it to any garage and they'll be able to replace it.  Bearings are quite cheap but depending on how it is fitted will determine how much it would cost (never worked on a clio, but some cars they were really easy, and other cars really difficult).  Do get it checked out though because if the bearing collapses then it could be incredibly dangerous.
