Does anyone know what the closest mountain to London is? Someone asked me this, and I have no idea what the answer is. I've done some searching, but can't find anything.

I thought it was all flat down south - your nearest mountain is probably Snowden

It is all flat down here, but I would think there is a closer mountain than Snowden.

Looking at the website that Ethel has given, I believe it may be the Black Mountain in Herefordshire
dont know what height classes a hill as a mountain, but would say that Snowdonia is best bet in the UK...but would any of the Alps actually be closer? now thats REAL mountains....
