We are driving the new jersey turnpike in april from philadelphia. Want to stay over no more than about 50-60 miles from philadelphia. Can anyone recommend somewhere nice, clean and not too expensive. Can be basic. Have checked tripadvisor and seen so many reviews - all different about the same place - that my head spins. A lot of them are quite out of date. Need to know someone who has stayed somewhere recently

Thank you for that. We have driven thousands of miles in the US but have never set foot, or should that be tyre on the new jersey turnpike. Perhaps you could answer another question for me. We will be arriving in Philadelphia at about 3pm and what with immigration and collecting our car can't see us getting out of the airport before 5 pm - RUSH HOUR. This will be on a Tuesday. We have chosen a hotel, looks nice, not a bad price about 70 miles from Philadelphia. The journey time given does not look realistic to me given the time of day - what do you know of rush hour going north on the new jersey turnpike - or indeed what does anyone out there know of rush hour on the new jersey turnpike. I haven't booked the hotel yet, wanted to know how horrendous our journey is going to be first.
