Can you get over to Tangiers in Morocco from Malaga?

You have to get a bus (or drive your hire car) to the ferry at Algeciras - not too difficult. If you drive you CANNOT take the car across unless it's your own.

I'm sure there will be organised excursions as well

You can (or could - it may no longer run) get a ferry from Malaga to Melilla (sp?), but that's at the opposite end of Morocco to Tangier.

Thank you both for replying. I will look into it more once we are over in Benalmadena.
Benalmadena is halfway to Algeciras - even easier. The buses to Algeciras stop there.

Forget Gibraltar - the ferries are twice a week - and Tarifa - a lot further than Algeciras
