has anyone else had trouble with expedia ? we were stranded in USA having bought and paid for our flights we wanted to stay longer (til our visa ran out) they said it would cost 50 per person which we paid, our original travel dates passed and they did not give us a flight home to the UK , after numerous emails and phone calls to them we had to borrow money to get home, we want our money back, tried all sorts of people, even wrote to watchdog ,can anyone help?

What evidence do you have regarding the agreement to amend your original booking for a price of 50? Verbal, email, what?
This sounds very little money (covering just an admin fee) and unless you had fully-flexible airline tickets in the first place, it sounds an unlikely basis for an agreement.

they took 2 lots of 50 out of our bank account the very next day, i have proof of this, after telling us that they would change the flight date, if they could not do it ,or as it happened they admitted the girl who took the telephone call cancelled the changed date, and did not tell us til after our original flight dates passed to go home, we would not have kept waiting for a flight booking

i forgot to say we received a email confirming our new flights, but not an itinerary, we telephoned to ask how much it would change the ticket dates, which we had paid in full.
So it does sound like I suggested above - the 50 was just an Admin fee. You would know (or you should have known) whether the original flights were flexible on date - it normally says if they aren't on the tickets. If you were on etickets it would say in the accompanying bumph attached to the email.
It isn't in the gift of Expedia to change the flights dates if the flights weren;t fully flexible - not without cancelling/rebooking.
If Expedia did make a mistake it was suggesting to you that a change might be possible, without asking this question of you or checking for themselves. Then in not communicating when they found out.
From what you have said, I don't think there's much you can do.

thank you for your answer , they have now sent us a emailing asking us for receipts( so they can investigate) i hope this means we will get our money back. i have photo copied and sent all the receipts to them and await a reply, the trouble is that they take so long in replying, i am still thinking of taking them to court though
