U.S. visa expired if i travel to puerto rico can i gain tourist visa from there or do i remain on U.S. visa

If your US visa has expired you will not be able to visit the US again until you have returned home and applied for a new visa - which will be refused as you have overstayed.

Puerto Rico is part of the US for immigration purposes anyway.

Do you really mean a tourist visa anyway or a visa waiver? Makes no difference - if you''ve overstayed you are barred from the US for a considerable period.
