I've only been with my new bloke for 3 months now and I noticed the other day a magnet has gone missing off my fridge of me and my ex at alton towers. I never kept it there because he's my ex, never really thought about it, I have lots of photos around my flat of all my mates. Anyway I found it hidden on top of my kitchen cabinets, haven't told him I've found it. But how would you react?

Hmmm, what is there to react about. i think its perfectly reasonable to remove a pic of your ex and place it out of sight.
How would you feel if he had a pic of his ex in his wallet?
I dont think you should be too hard on him as he has only moved it out of sight and not thrown it...
I wouldn't. I'd just put it back without saying anything. If he doesn't want to look at your ex everytime he opens the fridge then he should be able to tell you this.
Laugh firstly :-) and then put it back on the fridge. Maybe change the picture.... only because I wouldn't want to see my ex on the fridge lol.... life does, after all move on. If you still just love the picture, and the memories it holds, why not put it with your other pictures? I love to look at old pictures. But that's what they are. Old. :-)

With Love.

its not exactly a pic in a wallet, now that would annoy me. Its a pic where me and him are on a ride. that just happened to be on my fridge. Its a memory. I have just put it away in my draw and not said anymore. I just think it was silly hiding it, If he's just asked I would have got rid.

If I got rid of all my old photos believe me I'd have empty walls
It sounds like he has simply thrown it up there, out of sight/out of mind. He shouldve come to you and said it upsets him and would you mind putting it away.
However, I dont think this is something you should be worried about. In fact, it shows how much he cares for you and doesnt wanted to be reminded of your past with another man.
I have to admit, I am the jealous type when it comes to silly things like that. As far as I am concerned with past reltionships, the past is the past and thats where it should stay. No matter what, you'll always have your special memories in your head.
If my fella did this to me, I think I would actually be understanding, although I may approach as to why he did it that way. He may have just acted on impulse, and we've all done that!!
I am sure if you ask him he will just tell you that he put it out of sight as he didnt want to keep seeing it.
He might have known that if he mentioned it, it might cause an argument and he would come across as jealous when he isnt really. i think he is just proud and you should be thankful for that...
thanks for my 1 star by the way.
It means a lot to get summat off you 4getmenot. I usually just get your bad side :)
Question Author
tis quite sweet I spose :-)
I love my drawer of memories :-)
He was probably only kidding and just a gentle hint... but if he gets all halty about it? tell him he'll be joining the pics in the drawer lol..... bless :-)
i wouldn't react - just leave it there... it must be a bit odd for the lad if there are photos around the place of the ex, especially on the fridge for some reason as its a place you look at multiple times a day (i cover mine in my favourite pics) so i can understand why he wouldn't be keen.

i find it uncomfortable when i'm seeing someone if they have a few too many pictures of exboyfriends around the place - it just feels wrong... so let the magnet go - compromise if you want him for the long run

Mr Ben I dont really have a bad side on here, just my views so I can honestly say I dont know what youre on about, I dont really look at names when answering, was probably just my opinion at that time :-) Dont take it to heart. xx

But Iggy thats the thing, I got with my bloke soon after me and ex had split up so not like Im holding onto them just havent had time to pack them all away so hadnt even noticed the one on my fridge had gone for weeks. Guess it just made me chuckle that he had hid it and not said a word.
Mmm. If this is a one off fair enough but I went out with a very jealous chap once who;
Searched my cupboards and found and destroyed every letter and photo that had been sent to me by a man, including some from a boyfriend who had died and my relatives
Went through all the videos and deleted every bit featuring the band an ex was in.
Copied my address book and if I wasn't in would ring every number in my book trying to find me
Would ring the house of a male friend and accuse him of lying when he said I wasn't there.

Oh no hes nothing like that, infact I still have a group pic on my fireplace which has the ex in. Believe me he lets me have lots of bloke mates
Is it your fridge, or a fridge you share? Do you co-habit?

Either way, I would think it odd that a picture of an old flame would be kept on display certain circumstances are reasonable (deceased etc) for a while. If you really want to keep hold of both (him and pic) then why not just shove it into a memory box and put it away. If you and this fella dont work out, you could always put the pic back, or get a new one with him and you.
Hmmm, well said, Octavius, as usual.
I used to think that i was the only guy on here with any dignity and morals...
whats wrong with having pics of exes about the place if they are nice pics of you that you want to keep?

I had my wedding pic up in my bachelorette flat. I also had pics of me with 2 exes because I like dthe pics and because they are memories of holidays.

Nowt wrong with it if you want to dwell in the past. Of course we all have pictures on display as reminders, but sometimes you have to respect that another person in your life may not want the same reminders as you hence my Q about co-habiting.

Incidentally, my post was nothing to do with jealousy really. My ex used to do things like this and I didnt get jealous that she had pics of her with different blokes (not the rude ones like yours 4get!) displayed all over her flat. I just thought it was a bit odd and obviously failed to rise to the bait. Sure enough the pictures disappeared over time and were replaced with us but after 12 years I realised she really was quite a loony and it ended (to cut a short story short). No doubt she would have been bugging the next unfortunate fella with my mugshot all over the flat for a few years after.

It is just my flat. And I have put it away just wanted views on it. One day I will have a whole new makeover in flat and put a lot more away but as weve only been going out 3 months didnt feel the need to yet.
