What are the advantages of being married with a child, as opposed to living together, eg. parental responsibility (a friend of mine was unable to sign a consent form for his daughter as he is not married, though very much in love and living with, his daughters mother) ... pensions etc...

re parental consent if the father is named on the birth certificate or has joint custody of a child he should be able 2 sign for things regarding his daughter.this was a question on my local radio station recently and the specialist solicitor told the caller this but u could ask the C.A.B. about parental rights of a father who isnt married to his childs mother.hope this helps
hi there if the child was born after december 2003 and is named on the birth certificate he has parental responibilitie for his child and can sign anything regarding his child if the child was born before dec 2003 only the mother has parental responibilitie, as the law changed in 2003. but he can go to court to say that he wants parental responibilitie his girlfriend can go with him to say that she wishes him to half it too. i think marrige will do the same job but if they are only getting married for this reason save the expense and just go through family court
