different prices on flights

Can anyone tell me why, when one day a flight costs; say; �175 and next day costs �89...then changes again..�200...still seats on the plane and it`s the same company, same plane flying at the same time? aaargh! Thankyou

It depends how popular the flight is or is expected to be.

It's called yield management. The aim is to charge the highest fare you can and still fill the plane.
dont know, but we wanted to go to Vegas on 10/4/07 with Virgin, but dithered a bit through no fault of our own, they said the flight was full and charged an extra �210 to fly the next day, same flight & carrier and same hotel. I have no idea why and with Thomas Cook.
