Hi, Im staying in Manchester in November. Just wondered if anyone would recommend any particular places eg restaurants/bars/things to do during the day apart from shopping.
Also im staying at the Travel lodge (central one), can anyone tell me if its actually central and close to bars and restaurants. Could you recommend any other hotels which are quite reasonable with prices?

There's a really nice tapas bar on Deansgate, right next door to the Weatherspoons pub, The Moon Under Water.
the printworks has a nice atmosphere plenty of nice bars that serve food there is a hard rock cafe there as well , deansgate locks is good at the night time for drinking, not sure if its your scene but close to the printworks is urbis - the museum of modern life could pass an hour, have a meal in china town as well some really good restaurants there.
Hey r u staying there on the 13th/14th november? ;)
For bars definately go to Deansgate. also I know its shopping but ask a local to point you in the direction of Aflecks Palace. you will see some weird and wonderful sights!definately worth a visit. also go to the science museum, its a real hands on experience, lots of fun, especially for those young at heart (and its FREE!)
Deansgate definitely, and perhaps work your way up to the Castlefield area. Which Travelodge is it? Victoria Bridge St or Blackfriars St?

I am staying at the Blackfriars street one. Is the Victoria Bridge st in a better location? I've booked the 19th to the 22nd.
