Obviously it comes down to how much you want to spend?

If I wanted to splash out I'd go to this one

Prague has an excellent tram and underground system and is a small city. Most hotels will be a few mins from all the major tourist attractions.

from the airport get bus 119 (you need a ticket first for about 12 crowns 30p), stay on it till dejvicka (last stop anyway) and you'll be at metro station to get around. A taxi from airport will be about 12 so its a big saving. Bus takes 20mins ish.

Dont drink in main square you'll pay 3 for half litre of beer. Go any road off main squares and you'll pay 40p for same drink.

Dont go from june-august you wont be able to move for tourists.

Enjoy yourself, its the best place on earth

Hotel City Moran is good, part of the Best Western group. About 10-15 minutes walk to the centre but also 2 mins from an underground station, just a couple of stops away. Have also stayed in the Don Giovanni which is a little further out, not walkable but similarly right by a station and a bus stop directly outside. Of the two I would chose Moran but it is more expensive. Whilst you are in Prague, do have a meal in Kampa Park by the side of Charles Bridge, food to die for.

Try the Park Hotel - modern, spotless, about 15 mins from the centre on foot, but there's a tram stop outside. Really a nice place to stay.

And I second Breezy - those restaraunts beside the charles bridge are fab. (Down the steps on the left as you walk towards the castle)

We've just come back from a great weekend in Prague, and if you want a really special upmarket hotel for a special occassion, stay at the Jalta Hotel, which is right in the middle of Wencelas Square (you can actually see Good King Wencelas's statue from the hotel), so the hotel is within five minutes walk of Old Town Square (Astronomical Clock) and Charles Bridge is about 15 minutes away. The Jalta is a five star hotel, and the rooms are luxurious with bathrobes, and complimentary wines and chocolates in the rooms on arrival, some rooms have a balcony (ours did) overlooking the Square. There is a restaurant called HOT and the food there is simply divine. About 125 quid a night.
