16!!! be careful there tho - i went there a couple of years ago and there's lotsa pick pockets outside the bars/clubs - watch your handbag!

Actually, i think you will find that it is 18. but never properly inforced.

If you are questioned for ID it normally means they dont want you in there for other reasons.

Bob A Job - i'm pretty sure it's 16 in Spain (to which Tenerife belongs). I did a quick Google search and here's an example - Spain is in the table under age 16.

sarah - that is for both. i've never been asked for ID in Spain.

I live in Fuerteventura, another of the Canary islands and local law says no under 18 alcohol or cigarettes. but it is never inforced.
