Anyone know if I need a PCR to travel to an Amber list country after having both vaccines? The messages are so unclear , we know we’d have to have the antigen one to come back but do we need a PCR to travel?
I’ve looked at more NHS sites than you can shake a stick at , my heads buttoned up the back with it

This is one reason why am not considering anything abroad this year. Its not just our country's rules we need to look at , its those of the country your flying to, and things can change at short notice

Yes but our red amber green list is for what happends when you come back.
Wont travelling out depend on the other country's rules.
Am not sure what Grant Shapps says can affect that unless tey say no travel allowed which he wont

I’m still non the wiser if I need a PCR to go ,I’ve emailed JET2 and got a very nice email back but just saying things are changing rapidly but telling me what I want to know

Bobbie I know we are Portugal not Spain but to come here you need vaccine certificate, residency or reason to travel. Masks compulsory, beach access limited. Talk about proof of vaccine for supermarkets etc. Make sure you know what local requirements are

Is it Lanzarote. Sometimes Canaries and Ballearics theyve been treated differnt to Spain

Yes it is and yes they are treated different to mainland Spain as they are autonomous regions

Bobbi I have re-read several sites, mainly gov.uk and the spanish one and at the moment I believe nothing has changed since we travelled (and the Balearics have gone back to amber). If you are double jabbed then green and amber are exactly the same. Proof of 2x vaccine required, lateral flow equivalent within 3 days of leaving (theirs not a free one you take with you) and PCR Day 2 back in UK pre-booked and paid for.
In effect green and amber are the same for double jabbed.
As you have mentioned you will need to keep an eye that things don't change to amber plus etc.
I think those are the facts rather than a personal judgement on whether you should go or how mad you are to try :-) We are certainly aiming to return in September if things don't change.

You'll see that (unless you've got proof of having had Covid-19 and recovery from it), you require EITHER proof of a negative NAAT test (which, in practice, means a PCR one) OR proof of full vaccination.

The FCO website states:
"Spain will accept the UK’s solutions to demonstrate your COVID vaccination status".

Therefore the Spanish authorities (in Lanzarote) WILL accept your UK proof of vaccination (via the NHS app on your phone or in printed form) for entry and you do NOT require a PCR test to visit the Canary Islands.
