And by all accounts facing abuse from people who can’t get what they want, I totally despair
They certainly deserve thanks in the face of unremitting idiocy.
They also have a pretty secure job right now...and maybe opportunities for overtime. Thanks should be the norm rather than taking out your frustration

I thanked the lady who served me today for all their efforts. She looked a bit surprised but very pleased.
Probably get overtime paid in toilet rolls!
My son is a stacker truck driver in Asda, he got told off for getting a pack of toilet rolls from the warehouse for an older lady who told him she had Crohns.
Ah well.
My son works nights at Sainsbury's. Meeting lorries, and putting it tidy in warehouse out back. He said they've been getting in 30 -40 °/° more stock. Also told home their takings have been like a good Xmas!
I always thank the staff, but I think it would mean even more now.

They are doing a good job in difficult circumstances.
