I often wonder about people with young children especially babies and toddlers taken them abroad to places like Cyprus and Crete or turkey in the months of June,July, and August, the temperatures in those countries then are in the 80s,highly irresponsible in my opinion,a holiday in Britain would be much more suitable were the temperature is reasonable, would be better if they waited till the children were older.

I think when they are really little, they would enjoy a bucket and spade on a beach in Cornwall or Devon just as much as a beach in hotter climes. I know I did. It's the parents who want the holiday, not the kids.

Where adults live, so do children it's the way of the world. Yes someone from Finland may find the peak of summer in Chile a bit extreme but will it kill him? Doubtful. After a month - a year of living there will the heat affect him the same way as it first did? Of course not.

Adapt, improvise, overcome.

Takes 2 weeks for a human to get use to an environment.
Spath I have taken Jordy to be talking about babies not kids - as he said wait till they're older. No-one would have an issue with children going.
Spicerack...yeh, you're correct. I love disagreeing for the heck of it. I'm known for my annoying habit ...

'rolls eyes'
My kids were fine on the flight. I just brought toys with us and a pack up.

With me prudie it’s on the flight home poor wee souls no fault of theirs, and calico I sympathise with the babies and have never rolled my eyes once, but hey ho ,mum and dad have their tan and their duty free.
pasta

"As for them crying...you really can't know why they are...could be heat...hunger...a wet nappy...anything really."

What difference does it make for the reason, they are crying. they are a nuisance to other passengers and it does spoil a flight for other people.

I don't wnat to ban babies and children on flights and holidays in the sun, I just want to pose another opinion.
Ummm - I`m talking about little babies.
Prudie i was more talking about the young children aspect but i also think it's fine to take a baby on holiday, why not? As long as you keep it in the shade, well hydrated, cool and happy no worries ay.

I think if anyone saw a baby rolling around on the beach mid summer abroad with no shade protection anyone in their right mind would mention something.
I couldn't give 2 hoots what you think, Sqad, and I certainly don't care what some stirring, pernicious, embittered octogenarian thinks.
I know I'm correct. You've already confirmed exactly what I said.
"I don't wnat to ban babies and children on flights and holidays in the sun, I just want to pose another opinion."

A separate cabin maybe even closed by an air tight / sound preventing door specifically for families with young babies. These rooms could be more relaxing, maybe with a touch more room and a better environment for lil ones
^^^ LOl...LOL....I know you don't, that is the problem with much of modern society..."B.ugger you Charlie....I'm alright."
My kids really enjoyed their holiday though. I think they were 3 and 1 at the time. It's just not relaxing for the parents. I didn't take into consideration that I couldn't just get up a get a coffee.
Keep all the oldies off the flights, they make funny noises, and spend the entire flight coming and going to the toilet :*)
Why are you so angry, lady cg?
I was born and lived in a country far hotter than Cyprus or Crete or Turkey - what do you think my parents should have done Jordy?
I recently had a flight, on way out sat next to a woman my own age, she went on (at 7 AM) to down two small shot style bottles of JD.. this made me feel very ill. She went to the loo twice. Luckily she was aisle seat.

On way back i sat next to a gentleman who must have been at least 70 with a book. He was in aisle seat. He was very polite, didn't affect me once and he smelt rather pleasant so he wasn't in any way at all bad to sit next to, quite the opposite, a role model of a plane passenger. I'd rather all the peeps on the plane, bus and other public transport to be older. More aware, respectable, educated and considerate for others positions due to life experience and trial and error may we say.
Virgin are trying to get kid friendly 1st class cabins but are having issues with the legislation, but it cuts both ways, I'm sure the curmudgeonly are sick of the kids and i'm sure the kids parents are sick of the curmudgeonly. However it boils down to the fact that if the parents have bought tickets for their kid, then no-one imho has a right to moan about that.
I think the point he's making is taking them from the UK to a climate they aren't used to.
RR...you have misinterpreted Jordy's point.......which is focused on children on holiday.......not children brought up in that environment.
