St michael's mount.

Skegness, but, you have to believe!
The Eden project is worth a visit but it might be too far at about 40 miles.
St. Ives. A once beautiful little village, now spoiled by grockles.
Stay well clear of Lands End - it has been ruined, well and truly.

West Penwith is beautiful, the road from Sennen to St Ives stunning if somewhat twisty, see Sennen, St Just, Zenoor (lovely pub in the Tinners), great walks along the cliffs. There's also St Bunyan inland.....

South coast, Lamorna Cove, the Minack Theatre, Mousehole (lovely bistro in No 2 Fore Street), Newlyn - traditional Cornish icecream at Jelberts, right on the bridge there, Helen Glover's family own it, she of 1st gold medal fame at the Olympics. Penzance, the main gallery for their Stanhope Forbes collection.

There are a lot of good galleries around, Kurt Jackson in St Just, the Leach centre as you come out of St Ives towards Zennor, smaller galleries at Halestown (between Penzance and St Ives).

Take your paints if you are artistic, the countryside is savage but stunning and a major input into both the St Ives and Newlyn Schools - lastly, St Ives does not accept cars into the centre during the summer - part at St Erth and take the coastal rail in. The Tate, St Ives School of Art (where I trained) and galleries along Back Street West, the Hepworth Gallery are worth visiting, and the town is much improved re shops and restaurants - the Porthminster Cafe and Seafood Restaurant on the main front are noteworthy. Also, for the arts, see if the Town Hall is open as they have a magnificent collection of Alfred Wallis paintings, a naive artist who was a fisherman, the church also beautiful....
Near you, the Victoria in at Perranuthnoe is of note, the chef from the 3 Mackerels in Falmouth, mein hostess having trained with Raymond Blanc.

St Michael's mount is obviously there where we are going and therefore is on the list. We will also go to St Ives. I will go to Skegness when I am back home as it is closer here. I will look for Eden Project a bit more and 40 miles is not that far as I like driving.
It's bloody expensive, if you are into gardens and houses, there are plenty like The Lost Gardens of Heligan (expensive as it's the same owner as the Eden), Trerice, Trebah, Lanhydrock and several more. St Just Roseland/St Mawes/Porloe/Mevagissey worth a visit......folk also enjoy Falmouth, though a little like St Ives in being crammed - restaurants there include Samphire. If you want pubs out and about let me know.

Thanks DTC. lot of options there.

Are Grockles the same as Piles?

They arrive in bunches,
They turn red,
They're a pain in the a**e?
You need Lady J for the Lizard/Helston/Porthleven, but worth a visit too.....great pastie places down there.

Our interest is more into sceneries and nice beaches as I like photography.
And avoid Newquay, a right shytehole, Perranporth isn't that great - unless you are into surfing.....
Who isn't into surfing? It's got surfers!
North Coast has the beaches really....I would certainly have Godrevy on the list (great for kids and also the light house), Chapel Porth near St Agnes )a small cove) and St Agnes. Also Porthmeor and Sennen....
Question Author
I have already been to Newquay and perranporth.
Just get off the beaten track and into some of our country lanes and small villages if you are into photography.....
Tintagel is a must if you're into photography, surely?
And if you do Tintagel, you've got to go to Dozmary Pool.
