Any ideas what I saw from a flight - bit difficult to pinpoint but about 15 minutes before landing at Southampton, just north of a major road which I guess was the M4. Very green countryside with a lot of lakes/water (wondered Cotswold Water Park?) but satellite view doesn't show what I saw - a huge round stadium thing that looked like a giant golden polo mint - any locals with any idea?

Don't tell anybody!

Where were you flying from?

If you go to Flight Radar 24 you can see the flight paths - so find a plane doing the same route that you took and see if that helps.

Scrivens, you are brilliant. It must be the Diamond Light Source (never heard of it), it looked just like that. GCHQ was a good answer too but in far too built up an area.
Tuvok, I spend hours on Flightradar. It was a Flybe flight though and for some technical reason Flybe flight rarely show up. I even asked a question about it on here a year or two back, it was something about Flybe not using some transponder or something. Given the rickety Dash 8 I was on I'm not surprised they're not equipped with all the gadgets!!
