Am I correct in thinking that you can go up the Shard for free by going up to the bar on the 32nd floor and having a drink?

It seems odd if you can do it that way but the website does simply say: "Atrium Bar: 12pm–1am, no reservation necessary." http://www.aquashard.co.uk/ Why not give them a call and say that (for example) you'd like to meet a business colleague there for a drink but you're unsure as to how to enter the building without getting stopped at the tourist entrance?...

I have no idea...but I bet those drinks don't come cheap!
Yup, sky high prices.
Yes you can. £4.50 for a glass of house wine. £48 for a bottle of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc Reserve.

It`s the Oblix bar and you don`t need a reservation to go for a drink. You might have to queue to get in though.
You can get in for nothing this Sunday if you are dressed as Santa

Thanks to everyone.
A bit more info on this - when you go there at busy times (such as at this time of the year) and you queue to get in, it seems that you don`t have much choice as to which bar you go to. We wanted to go into the Aquashard tonight but we ended up being marshalled into the Chinese restaurant`s bar because that was the only area that had spaces. I have come to the conclusion that the whole place isn`t very organised (I thought the same when I last went) so be prepared to play it by ear.
