Fares vary because of special offers, but I find that the Red Funnel Line from Southampton usually beats the competitors, even though the sea part is an hour instead of half hour on the others.  It is also convenient to get to in Southampton.  If this is your first time, download the street map from their website, and follow it from the M271.  Look out for the entrance which will be on your right.  There is a dome-like structure nearby which can be used as a landmark and the entrance is near a public park called the Mayflower Park.

www.redfunnel.co.uk  or 0870 444 8898.  It is usually cheaper if you book a week ahead.

And just to compair there is Wightlink too from Portsmouth......Don't confuse it with P&O though or you'll end up in Bilbao, Wine, Beer and ciggies are a little cheaperthough!
