IVE APPLIED FOR A 4 HOUR PASSPORT FOR ME AND MY SON, WENT TODAY AND THEY RANG TO SAY THEY NEED TO DO MORE CHECKS!!!! WHY DO THEY HAVE TO DO THIS AND I FELL IVE PAID ALL THAT MONEY AND BEEN CONNED

the "4 hrs" means within 4 hours of your application being accepted. You application was not accepted yet.

ITS NOT MY SONS FIRST PASSPORT, WHEN WE WERE THERE THE WOMAN SAID IT WAS ALL FINE , GO AND PAY THE MONEY AND IT WILL BE READY BY 2:30PM GOT A PHONE CALL 1 HOURNG FOR LUCH SAYING THEY NEEDED TO CHECK IT AGAIN AND THE PERSON TO CHECK IT WILL NOT BE IN UNTIL MONDAY, SO WHY DID I PAY FOR A PASSPORT TO RECIVE IT IN FOUR HOURS BUT THEY NEED TO CHECK IT AGAIN ALSO MY SONS?

our passports expired, the lady who phoned said if i wanted to they could post them but why did i pay to get my passports within 4 hours and now they have to check them again?!!! i bet they make lots of money doing this

There must be a reason. Myself and my husband have both paid for same day passport renewals and received them okay. And there's no need to SHOUT - we're not the ones who won't renew your passports!
