Plaese help!

I'm going to Paris with my boyfriend in mid-July.

The only thing is we don't know how much money to take each!

We're only going for three days!

I've heard it's pretty expensive!

Try the lonely planet website. Once you know what you're spending on your hotel, you can spend as much or as little as you like on food as there's a variety of places to eat. Then add some for entertainment and travelling around the city. If you bring a credit card you don't have to worry about how much money to take, just change enough for the first day and see how you go.

Have fun!

Excluding hotels etc., I'd take a minimum of 150 each.  Best to take a Credit/debit card (Visa etc) that you can use at an ATM.

try not to eat or drink in street cafes (i.e on the pavement) as they cost lots as compared to sitting inside.

It needn't be expensive to enjoy Paris on a budget.  Eating out in traditional brasserie type places can be pretty cheap (less than a tenner for 3 courses plus a small carafe of wine), especially if you keep away from the notorious touristy spots like the champs elysees.  If one of you can speak basic french, so much the better, as you can avoid the touristy places altogether and eat in the places the locals use!

An even cheaper option is to head for one of the outdoor markets, buy some bread, cheese, cold meat, pickles and fruit and head to one of the many parks for a relaxing picnic.

There are loads of nice (and cheap) things to do, such as climb the Eiffel tower (costs about 7 for a ticket if you're happy to walk up it); visiting the catacombs, and just walking about and drinking up the atmosphere.
